Bio
Nob'l’s journey in music began long before he fully realized it. Raised in an environment surrounded by music, with his mother as a singer, the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-born artist was unknowingly absorbing the melodies and rhythms of his youth. Although he first dabbled in music after high school while attending college on a basketball scholarship, it wasn’t until his cousin introduced him to the magic of a professional recording studio that Nob'l recognized his calling. That moment sparked a new chapter in his life, igniting a passion for songwriting, music production, and performance that has since become his life’s work.
Nob'l’s sound defies easy categorization, blending the lyricism and rawness of '90s hip-hop with modern sensibilities. His influences are vast, spanning genres from R&B, rock, and jazz to gospel and world music. Drawing inspiration from legendary figures like Jimi Hendrix, Michael Jackson, Nas, Wu-Tang, and Jay-Z, as well as modern icons such as Kendrick Lamar, Kirk Franklin, and J. Cole, Nob'l’s work reflects a melting pot of experiences. As a musician and producer, he integrates live instrumentation with the grit of drum machines, resulting in a timeless and innovative sound.
His upcoming single, Bounce Back, is a testament to resilience. Written after years of soul-searching, the song reflects a period where Nob'l stepped away from writing music entirely, only to return with a renewed sense of purpose. In Bounce Back, he declares his determination to rise above life’s setbacks, embodying the spirit of perseverance. “We’re like a basketball,” Nob'l says in the song’s opening, “No matter how many times we hit the ground, we’re going to bounce back.” This message of hope and recovery is woven throughout his work.
Nob'l’s creative process is deeply introspective, often influenced by his faith, life experiences, and the world around him. His songwriting is rooted in storytelling, using metaphors and wordplay to convey deeper truths. Whether composing in the early hours of the morning or revisiting old voice memos, Nob'l allows his artistry to unfold organically, trusting that the right song will reveal itself in time.
Having faced the challenge of breaking through in a crowded industry, Nob'l has learned to embrace his unique sound and stay true to his artistry. Growing up in New Jersey between Philadelphia and New York, he absorbed the musical richness of the East Coast, from Philly’s soulful R&B to the gritty realism of New York City’s rap scene. These experiences have shaped his perspective on music, driving him to create art that resonates with authenticity.
Looking ahead, Nob'l is focused on evolving as a musician and a person. His goal is simple: to create music that moves people, pushing boundaries and challenging the status quo. With a full-length project slated for release in 2025, Nob'l is excited to share his story and continue his artistic evolution. Through his music, Nob'l invites listeners to reflect on their own experiences, encouraging them to find strength, hope, and joy in the face of life’s challenges. He makes it a point of emphasis to be vulnerable enough to share how he continues to do just that.
